Oracle Tablet 721 Documentation

Note:

 

This guide is intended for replacement tablets or adding tablets to a site that already has tablets enabled. It does not cover how to convert a restaurant to a tablet enabled restaurant.

 

Pre-requisites:

 

• Server running an OS Windows 7 or above
• Micros RES version 5.5 or above
• Keyboard
• Setup files obtained here:
• Tablet 721 Doc
• UltraVNC_1_2_21_X64_Setup.exe (Ensure it is 64 bit)

 

 

Tablet Configuration Steps:

 

• If this is a new device you will need to set the first boot parameters

• Ensure time zone is EST
• Region : Canada
• Use express settings
• Username : caraadmin
• Password : 5e5ame
• Hint : cara

• After a few minutes the device will boot into Windows 10

 

Connect to WiFi:

• Go to Control panel
• Go to Network and sharing center and setup a new connection
• Select Manually connect to a wireless network
• 
• Enter the Network Name = ******-Order-CV (where * is the brand)
• Security type is WP2 - Personal
• Security Key = ******order (where * is the brand spelled backwards)
• Ensure that Start this connection automatically is checked off
• Ensure that Connect even if the network is not broadcasting is checked off
• Click next and finish
• Obtain the IP address by going to CMD and do an IPCONFIG

 

Set the Auto Login:

• On the Keyboard hit the Windows key:

• Type: netplwiz and hit enter
• Uncheck the box to prevent Windows from requiring a login after each boot up
• Enter the password “5e5ame”
• Click Apply and OK to exit

 

Disable Windows Automatic Updates:

• On the Keyboard hit the Windows key:

• Type: services.msc and hit enter
• Scroll to the bottom and look for Windows Update
• Right click and go to properties
• Under Startup Type change the dropdown to disabled and hit Apply and exit

 

Install VNC:

• Copy the VNC install file found here to the server:

• UltraVNC_1_2_21_X64_Setup.exe
• Hit the Windows key and type “mstsc.exe” and hit enter
• Enter the IP of the Tablet
• Once connected copy the VNC to the desktop
• Run through the install
• Under Select Components make sure that the only thing checked is “UltraVNC Server”
• On the next screen ensure that the only thing checked is “Register UltraVNC Server as a system service” click next and complete install.
• Hit the Windows Key and type Edit Settings top open VNC Settings
• Under Security tab enter VNC Password: 5e5ame
• Click Apply and click OK
• From the server

 

Setup the MSR

• Hit the windows key
• Type Magswipecfgutil and hit enter
• Select the first button “Select Reader Interface”
• Check the 3rd option (USB)
• 
• Click continue
• Click Change Advanced Reader settings from the left
• Check the middle option
• 
• Click Send to MSR on bottom left to save
• Click EXIT once it is done saving

 

Add the DNS:

• Hit the Windows key and type View Network Connections and hit enter

• Right click the WiFi and go to properties
• Go to IPV4 and go to properties
• Ensure that it is on Obtain automatic and enter the following DNS:
• 172.27.250.225
• 172.31.250.225
• Click OK twice and exit

 

Install CAL:

• On the desktop you should see Install CAL

• Run through the install of the CAL software
• Once completed CAL will automatically launch
• Click Configure CAL
• Enter the servername, IP and set the drop down to 3700
• Select the appropriate device

• If the device does not show you can consult POSConfig > Devices > Network Node
• Find the device you are trying to CAL and manually enter the settings
• Save and proceed with CAL’ing

 

Client Trust Passphrase

• Once CAL is complete you will need to enter a Client Trust Passphrase
• The phrase is : CaraOp3ration$Ltd
• The tablet should load into RES
